Background
The challenges faced by educational research in Bolivia may change over time and circumstances, but persistent issues include resource limitations, access to data, and the communication of research findings. Often, many graduate research projects remain archived in libraries and repositories, losing the opportunity to make a significant impact on society.
In response to these challenges, Propuestas Educativas was established in January 2019 as a response to the objectives of the Latin American Education Network (RELE) to contribute to the development of educational research in Bolivia. The journal was created as an appropriate space to disseminate the results of studies conducted by academics in the fields of education and psychology in Latin America. The editorial team, primarily composed of university professors, was motivated by the need to value scientific writing and its contribution to academic communities.
In 2023, Adventist University of Bolivia decided to affiliate Propuestas Educativas with its editorial label. This collaboration was based on the fundamental role that the institution plays in training professionals in education and psychology through undergraduate and graduate programs. This reflects the university's commitment to promoting research and knowledge exchange in these fields.
The affiliation of Propuestas Educativas with the Adventist University of Bolivia demonstrates a strong commitment to disseminating high-quality academic research and work in education and psychology, benefiting both the academic community and society in general. The journal is indexed in several prestigious databases (AMELICA, European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences ERIHPLUS, Latin American Network of Academic Journals in Social Sciences and Humanities LatinRev, Latin American Citations in Social Sciences and Humanities CLASE, EUROPUB) and has endorsed the DORA Declaration, underscoring its commitment to quality and relevance in research.
Propuestas Educativas maintains an open call for submissions throughout the year, with the purpose of fostering beneficial dialogues for the advancement of educational research in Latin America.
